We've had this Bible for years but, honestly, it hasn't received much of our attention.  It belonged to my husband's grandfather on the Bruce side and has the birth dates for the family hand-written in the back as used to be the custom.  One has to admire the fact that many family hands have held it and perused the pages.  The paper has yellowed and grown somewhat brittle and the cover is certainly worn, all of which give the book great character and charm.  Coming across something like this is a benefit of all this purging and packing.     But I'd still rather be doing a lot of other things that are more interesting and fun.
